Event Activities
Your personal in-destination activity on 3rd October will be displayed in your program in the event app from 25th September.
Where possible we have tried to accommodate your requests, whilst some activities have limited availability.
Below is an overview of the activities including timings and what to wear. Once you have received your allocated activity in your personal program, please ensure you pack the necessary clothing.
1st October
Dhow Cruise
About the activity
Marvel at Oman’s stunning coastline from a traditional Dhow boat during this scenic cruise. Glide by white sand beaches, turquoise waters, getting a front-row peek at the country’s standout scenery.
You’ll also have a chance to go swimming and snorkelling in secluded spots along the water.
The Dhow will cruise along some of the most impressive sights of Muscat. It is furnished with carpets and cushions, and you will be amazed by the impressive views of Muscat from the seas front.
You will enjoy a buffet lunch and soft drinks on board
Snorkelling kits will be available on board.
Timings: 9am meet in the hotel lobby for a prompt 09:15am departure.
Duration: 6hrs.
What to bring
Swimwear - (you might want to pack this in your hand luggage, so you have access to this on arrival in Oman). Changing facilities are available on board the dhow.
Casual / flip flops / hat / sunscreen / beach towel.
Note: If you are prone to sea sickness, please ensure you bring sea sickness tablets with you and take them 30mins prior to departure.
3rd October
fishing with the locals
About the Activity
In this unique experience, the local fishermen will take you in their classic fishing boats and you will be pulling out the nets that they dropped the night before to see how many and what kind of fish had been caught.
Later you will drop the other net for the next fishing session for the fisherman, this can be hundreds of meters in the sea alongside the rocks for a certain type of fish.
You will be taking your "catch of the day" to the fish market, here you will see how the other fishermen bring their daily catch to sell it.
Duration: 4hs.
What to wear / bring: Casual / shorts / hat / sunscreen / camera.

About the Activity
An opportunity to take photographs of magnificent panoramic views.
You will see several tombs in a cemetery. This contains graves dating back to the eighteenth-century AD, this cemetery contained the remains of several Commonwealth soldiers who fought in the First World War.
You can also stop to take a deep breath and soak in stunning views of old Muscat and the beautiful rock formations.
At the end of the trekking route, return by classic fishing boats to the nearest harbour and then pick-up by the bus.
Duration: 4hrs.
What to wear: Trek shoes / sturdy trainers / hat / sunscreen / camera.

About the Activity
We will pay a visit to their house in the village and there will be a chance to:
Support them by buying their “Eco Friendly” products.
A chance to learn how they produce their products “Tailoring Class”.
Learn to cook some of the popular light daily dishes.
Henna artwork on your hands.
Duration: 4hrs.
What to wear / bring
Casual, no shorts.
Recommended to have some cash to buy some products (USD, EUR, OMR, AED).
Snorkelling Cruise at Daymaniyat Island
About the Activity
This is in fact the best spot for snorkelling as there are nine low, rocky inlets here, strung out in a line from east to west and surrounded by beautiful coral reefs.
Enjoy a 40-minute boat trip by speed boats.
Explore the underwater life at the turquoise water at the beaches.
Snorkelling kits will be available on board

What to wear / bring
Swimwear - changing facilities available on board.
Casual / flip flops / hat / sunscreen / beach towel / camera.

Muscat City Tour
The tour will take you to the vibrant and traditional Muttrah Souk, a photo stop at the grand Sultan's Palace nestled in the heart of Old Muscat, and the captivating museums of Bait Al Zubair and/or the National Museum. Each of these landmarks stand as a testament to Oman's rich traditions, culture, and heritage—the land of Sindbad the Seafarer, whose expeditions once stretched as far as India and East Africa.
About the Activity
The first stop at the Grand Mosque, explore this iconic piece of art.
Orientation tour of Muscat city.
Photo Stop at the Jalali & Mirani Forts, and the Sultan’s Palace.
Visit the Museum of Bait Al Zubair.
Visit Muttrah Souq (market).
Duration: 4hrs.
What to wear / bring
As we’re visiting the Grand Mosque:
Ladies - please cover your hair with a scarf, your shoulders and arms to the wrist, and your legs to the ankle.
Gents - trousers (no shorts) to cover your legs. No visible tattoos.
General recommendation: hat / sunscreen / cash or card to buy any souvenirs.
Can you cook Omani Food?
About the Activity
You will enjoy an event in a beautiful traditional Omani building and feast on an impressive Omani/Middle eastern menu to suit all tastes. Learn how traditional Omani food is cooked and what the ingredients are; collect these ingredients yourself from the vegetable seller waiting outside the building and learn how to prepare your dish.
Enjoy having the dishes you prepared during the cooking class.
