inCROWD: Danilo Cerqueira @ Tempovip DMC

In our latest inCROWD feature, we catch up with Danilo Cerqueira, CEO at Tempovip DMC Portugal, on plate smashing in Mykonos, memorable event moments, what luxury means and more.

Having started his career in Brazil working in a variety of roles across transportation, hotels and as a tour guide, Danilo came to Portugal in 2004 to study for a master’s degree.

He founded his first business there, an executive transportation company, which expanded to become a full-fledged DMC in 2008. “During COVID, I had the idea to branch out into video production and create the best product video portfolio that exists in any destination. So, right now we have three complementary businesses, and I’m very excited about the future.”

My favourite #inVOYAGEMoment is… breaking the dishes in the restaurant after dinner in Mykonos.

The thing I most love about working in events is… the chance to share the Portuguese culture, heritage, lifestyle and values to create everlasting emotions and memories for our clients and their guests.

Luxury to me means… freedom! It is the possibility of having what you want, when you want, and where you want. That’s why luxury is subjective and so different for each of us.

My earliest travel memory is… a school trip to a beach resort in Brazil. It was so much fun.

City slicker or beach bum? I’m definitively a city person. I love the lively atmosphere, the vibe, the rhythm, colours, sounds and people. A city break brings me intensity, energy and joy like no other place.

If I could get on a plane right now, I would fly to… Bogotá in Columbia. I love to discover and explore off the beaten track cities.

Suitcase essentials? Noise cancelling earphones, a book and swimwear are part of my travel survival kit!

Your favourite hidden gem? Barra Grande Beach, a little piece of paradise located on the south coast of Bahia, in northeast Brazil. It’s stunningly beautiful.

Most memorable event moment… arriving in convertible vintage sport cars at a luxury vineyard in Alentejo on a sunny Friday afternoon. After wine tasting and a cocktail, we took off on an amazing hot air balloon ride. Everything, from the weather to the colours, the people to the energy, was perfect.

When I’m not working, I’m most likely to be… enjoying some great family time and shaping our future!
