Scotland’s famed golf coasts are already popular with incentive groups, and the addition of three new luxury properties will increase the region’s appeal even further.

Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners has announced the launch of Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts, a new collection of luxury hotels, the first of which will open this summer.

Marine & Lawn will welcome travellers from across the globe to the birthplace of golf, offering handcrafted experiences rooted in service and prime access to Scotland’s most prestigious golf courses.

Each Marine & Lawn property will establish a unique sense of place for guests, weaving the legends of centuries of golf history into design details throughout each hotel.

Rusacks St Andrews

Opening its doors in Jul 2021, Rusacks St Andrews will offer 123 rooms, as well as forthcoming rooftop bar and restaurant set to open this summer overlooking the 18th hole of the Old Course at St Andrews and the historic Swilcan Bridge.

The hotel features panoramic views of the world’s oldest golf course, celebrating 600 years of world-class golf history. The design throughout the hotel will take inspiration from the centuries of St Andrews history, as well as the destination’s lush, coastal positioning and the city’s legendary golf tradition.

In addition, guests can relax in the treatment rooms, sauna and steam room and dining outlets.

Rusacks St Andrews will be followed by the opening of Marine North Berwick in August.

Marine North Berwick will undergo extensive renovations which will see the former East Lothian ‘Grand Old Lady’ restored back to her former glory.

The hotel, which overlooks the 16th hole of the historic West Links course at North Berwick Golf Club and boasts scenic views of the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock, will offer 84 bedrooms, a Scottish brasserie, an authentic destination bar and lounge, serving mainly fresh produce from local farms and North Berwick’s legendary lobster dives.

It will be home to 6,000 square feet of extensive conference, wedding and events facilities for up to 200 guests with private ocean view dining, a walled garden and luxurious spa, pool and fitness centre complementing the full resort property.

The hotel will be available for both part and exclusive use hire – which is expected to be increasingly popular with clients post pandemic.

Completing the trio in 2022, the final hotel to open from the collection will be Marine Troon on the Ayrshire Coast. The hotel will offer 89 rooms, two food and beverage concepts, expansive meeting and event spaces and a new fitness and leisure centre with an indoor pool, squash court, sauna and steam facilities.

The hotel will provide unobstructed views of the 1st and 18th fairways of Royal Troon's Old Course, which has played host to nine Open Championships. The design will lean heavily into the shipping history of Troon, taking inspiration from the hotel’s coastal positioning with soft hues and rich, natural textures.
